Client: The Organic Modern House

The Organic Modern House. Located in Reno, Nevada.

It’s so fun to see the hours and hours of interior design brainstorms and meetings, mood boards and sourcing finally come to fruition. Once the Organic Modern House was fully installed, I breathed a big sigh of relief and nervously prepared to reveal it to my client. We’re talking I was feverishly styling until the last 30 seconds before my client walked through the door. From neutral contrasting colors to organic ethnic elements, I designed the Organic Modern house to be the perfect layered home for a family of four. A mixture of modern lines and white contrasted with warm wood and pops of black. The simple color palette puts the emphasis on texture to create visual interest and a beautiful, natural vibe.

I am a huge fan of adding live plants into the home for the health benefits as well as visual texture and beauty they provide. My client was new(er) to house plants and had some trepidation about keeping them alive—especially as a busy working mom of two toddler girls. As a thriving plant mama of LOTS of live plants in my own home (and fellow toddler mom), I assured her it was easy and took relatively little time. (I spend about a half hour a week watering my plants and the benefits far outweigh the time put in in my opinion). My client and I went shopping for plants together prior to install and those green goddesses really made the house come together in the end. And I’m happy to report my client concurred the plants have been pretty easy to keep alive and she’s loving plant mom life.

Take a peek below for a view of the final interior design mood boards that led to the installed design. Approximately 10,000 revisions and decisions had to be made to create the end result. Ha. So much work, but so worth it. My client said that “everyone that visits comments on how beautiful and put together our home is” and that West Rose Design “helped make our house into a home we love”. Happy clients who love their homes are the dream. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results.
